Two stars destined to collide; Matt Stead and Rob Ash lived most of their lives in the rural backwaters of Gloucestershire. Without knowing they were rarely more than 20km away from each other.
Both,
passionate
about music,
longed to air their tunes
to whoever would listen
and for one reason or
another ended up in Bristol.
By chance
they were introduced at a party.
Their dual admiration for g
reat
bands such
as Jesus and Mary
Chain, Pixies
and Primal Scream, prompted
their decision to form the big
lebowski.
An amazing
song writing partnership
has blossomed since.

Rob
and Matt recruited new
talent
in the form of Darren Smith and Ian Norreys and completed
the line up
of The Mighty Stars. The band
comprises of Matt on guitar
and vocals,
Rob on bass
and backing vox,
Ian on guitar
and Darren on drums
and percussion. The band has, after a short
period
of time perfected
a sound that is equal parts punk
and rock
n’roll
with a massive
dose of melody.
The band
stand
for a
ethos
of getting
out there and engaging
their
audience
and are very much dismayed by the
lack
of
ambition or
attitude
of most other modern bands.
NeXT
The band have been playing various gigs in the South-West and have just been in the studio to record a demo single. The songs recorded were 'Elliot'; an infectious charge of Sci-Fi Guitar pop and 'Go!' a mean and lean tune full of rock n' roll attitude. The demo has been played on BBC Radio 1 Evening Session and BBC Radio Wales. To listen to these tracks go to TUNES.
